No-Refund Policy

This site is run for free on my time. Due to the hassle of handling returns with Bitcoin, we have a no-refund policy. This no-refund policy includes situations such as the following:

  • Your plans changed
  • You decided you didn’t want to play any more
  • You missed the start time
  • A game bug got you killed
  • The game crashed
  • Your device crashed
  • The game servers had issues
  • You had problems with your internet connection
  • You couldn’t find the email with scrim details
  • The map wasn’t the one listed on the description
  • Etc.

Refunds are only available under the following conditions:

  1. The scrim does not achieve the required registration threshold (the game will be cancelled).
  2. The Bitcoin Scrim Club site conclusively broke.

Only purchase an entry to a scrim if you are certain you can make it and that you will be prepared.

Prize Policy

All prize decisions made by the Bitcoin Scrim Club organisers are final.

In the vast majority of games, the results will be clear-cut according to the player placement as displayed at the end of the game. However, there’s a possibility that due to unforeseen circumstances (such as cheating) we may need to make adjustments to select a different set of winners. We will always endeavour to be as fair and impartial as possible when making these decisions.

Sometimes, we might make mistakes. We cannot be everywhere in the game at once, so we may miss instances of cheating. Please accept that it’s a tough job to be a referee and if you’re upset with a decision, we hope you’ll still be back for another game in future!

Sometimes the Bitcoin Scrim Club organisers may participate in matches (we made this site more for ourselves than anything else!). We will make sure there’s a list of organiser’s in-game usernames so that they can be identified. Bitcoin Scrim Club organisers cannot win prizes. If any organisers make it to one of the prize positions, their prize will pass to the next-ranked player.

Prizes cannot be negotiated.

Prize distribution

Prize winners will be contacted by email immediately after the event to request a Bitcoin address or Lightning invoice.

Distributions will be processed 24 hours after the completion of the game. This gives us time to resolve any disputes and adjust the prize pool accordingly.

Prizes cannot be delivered in any other format other than Bitcoin or Lightning transfers.

Cheating

All decisions on cheating made by the organisers are final.

Anyone that the organisers perceive to be cheating will have their in-game usernames and email addresses banned for life and will not be eligible for any prizes. We may also deploy other methods to identify and block cheaters from our games.

Cheating includes:

  • Cooperating with other solo players / duos / squads
  • Using an emulator
  • And more

Always bear in mind that it’s just a game. Have fun!
